The Third Annual Awarding Ceremony TOP-5 AUTO 2015 took place on May 25 in a Moscow club ICON. For the third year in a row a range of the most reputable Russian automotive journalists (now the jury comprises 38 people) from different media got together in order to express a consolidated independent opinion about the new models and the most influential persons in Russian automotive business. First of all the expert jury evaluated all the models that appeared on Russian market in 2014, picking the most worthy ones. Afterwards the jury voted for the best of the bunch, largely having regard to price-quality ratio of а vehicle.
In a special category AUTOPERSON OF THE YEAR nominees were traditionally determined on basis of media monitoring data, executed by a research company TNS Russia on key figures from Russian automotive business, politicians, public characters, sportsmen, journalists.
In COMPACT CITY CAR / MINIVAN nomination Škoda Rapid was acknowledged as the best one.
In LARGE AND EXECUTIVE CITY CAR category the winner was the new BMW 4-Series Gran Coupé.
In COMPACT CROSSOVER / OFFROADER nomination Porsche Macan was picked as the best one.
In LARGE CROSSOVER / OFFROADER category the competition was won by Range Rover Long Wheelbase.
In SPORTS CAR / COUPE / ROADSTER / CABRIO nomination two contenders at once got the same amount of votes of jury. These are BMW M4 Coupé and Jaguar F-Type Coupé.
In a special nomination LIGHT COMMERCIAL VEHICLE / PICKUP the new Ford Transit and Ford Transit Custom were honored with the award.
In a special nomination BEST PR-DEPARTMENT OF A CAR MANUFACTURER the winner was Mitsubishi Motors RUS. In this category the members of jury evaluated the expertise and skills of press officers of automotive companies to build a day-to-day and efficient communication between car manufacturers and journalists.
In another special category AUTOPERSON OF THE YEAR, the award in which is presented for outstanding achievements in Russian automotive business, the competition was won by Bo Andersson, president of AVTOVAZ company.
Tabulation and certification of votes were executed by specialists of one of the leading international auditing companies – KPMG.
A Taiwan company Federal Tyres acted as the general sponsor of the Third Annual ceremony of National Award of Automotive Business Experts TOP-5 AUTO. Other partners of the ceremony included: legendary Swiss watches ORIS and Autolocator company – a balanced technological platform, telematic service-provider of navigation and information GLONASS / GPS services in Russia and in countries of the Customs Union.
In the frames of TOP-5 AUTO ceremony in ICON concert-banquet complex winners of musical contest “Golos Vesni (Voice of Spring)” such as Primrose, Masta Band, Ze’Bros Band and rock-duo Shamanic Illness performed live onstage.
