Higher education. Graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of MGU (The Moscow State University) in 1985.
Andrei first worked in Tourist magazine, then in the press-center of Central Committee of railroaders’ trade union.
Andrei came to automotive journalism literally via classifieds. In 1995, having gained a certain experience in driving and auto service, he wrote an article for Za Rulem (Behind the Wheel) magazine and started to work there (mainly in the section about service). After that from 2001 he worked in Za Rulem book publishing department, where he took part in publications of workshop manuals for various vehicles, including the fact that he carried on a series of such books. He also worked on catalogues and other projects. Andrei worked for some time as an editor / journalist in Tretiy Rim (Third Rome) publishing house as well as at www.gruzovik.ru.
Though Andrei has only a B category driving license (from 1991), he whenever possible expresses an interest to the equipment of various kinds. He tried to steer fright trucks, tractors, off-road vehicles on low pressure fluid mechanics, showmobiles, sea-doos and even motor sleds.
Andrei loves to travel on a car, including the crossing of tough terrain. Favorite directions – to the North: Vologda and Arkhangelsk regions, Karelia. The things that Andrei appreciates mostly in vehicles: roominess, load capacity and suitability for any kinds of roads. His favorite type of vehicles – all-wheel-drive pickups.
