Piotr has been behind the wheel of a cart from the age of seven. He was the participant of Moscow and regional competitions. At 14 years old Piotr started working at an auto laboratory and motorcycle club of MADI (The Moscow State Automobile & Road Technical University). At that time he took up motocross. Piotr is a multiple prize winner of Moscow and USSR cups. He’s a master of sports of USSR.
From 1978 till 1981 Piotr studied in MADI at the faculty of automotive transport. Subsequently due to the injury he was forced to quit his beloved institute, motocross and auto laboratory.
In 1983 Piotr joined the Moskovskiy Komsomolets newspaper as a string correspondent of a sport department. He’s an author of multiple articles and stories about motorsports and about such racers like Vyacheslav Danilov, Konstantin Zhigunov, Vladislav Shtikov, Sergei Uspenskiy and others.
Piotr entered the Faculty of Journalism of MGU (the Moscow State University), and in 1989 he collected a diploma. In frames of a staff writer of MK (Moskovskiy Komsomolets) Piotr travelled the world a lot. Some travels were connected with cars – over Europe on Mercedes-Benz, along the West Coast of South America on Land Rover, over the USA on Cadillac… All travels hit the headlines of MK
In the beginning of the 1990s a new opportunity emerged – to test new models in Europe via car rental company Budget and others. They connected with the first travel companies in Russia and travel companies sent journalists in study tours. This was an original form of cooperation. A journalist covered a travel, recommended tourists a rental company and at the same time spoke about the car, which was important for an emerging Russian automotive market at that time. Afterwards the official “rides” (press-tours) arrived, which are currently already old hat. Then the whole new cohort of journalists-auto reviewers was born which Piotr was delighted to join but years later. Until then Piotr was making movies for Russian TV about the extreme travels, he was also engaged in magazines dealing with travels and was breaking the new ground on the radio.
From 2007 Piotr hosted an automotive program together with Andrei Lemigov at RSN, but he seriously become familiar with automotive life again at Kommersant FM in 2011 as a test-pilot in Alexey Slaschev’s program “Autopilot”. Starting from 2013 Piotr has been actively introducing the automotive segment into the broadcast of Best FM, Rock FM, Radio Jazz. He cooperates with automotive publications and TV-programs.
